About Us
We are a group of New Haven and Hamden, Connecticut public school teachers and graduates or students studying TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and bilingual and multicultural education at Southern Connecticut State University. We are pursuing cross endorsements in bilingual education or TESOL. This website has grown out of our monthly community of practice meetings where we
come together to share our most recent challenges and achievements in the classroom. We found that there was a need for a more effective way to share resources and information among teachers, administrators, and parents of English learners.
The community of practice meetings and our graduate studies have helped to better inform our teaching practices. Sharing our knowledge and ideas, we have learned how best to serve our EL population. Now, we wish to share our knowledge with others. With that goal in mind, we created this website. The information and resources that you will find here are intended to help educators, administrators, and parents to better serve our EL populations and navigate the transition to English. We intend to continue to add to the site and would love to hear from you. We're in this together.
